BMW 6 Series Coupé (2012) - now in the UK
The 2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe bowed in ahead of the Shanghai Motor Show back in March, and it finally arrives in the UK next week (15th October). Ahead of the arrival of BMW’s big coupe in UK showrooms, BMW has sent us a huge gallery of 6-Series photos together with price and model details specific to the UK. Three engines will be on offer in the 6-Series Coupe – at least until BMW get round to the new M6 Coupe – with two petrol engines and one diesel engine offered, although BMW expect a full 90 per cent of all 6-series coupes sold in the UK to be specified with the 3.0 litre diesel.
VW will only build 250 examples of the XL1, its super-streamlined two-seater than scores a combined 314mpg thanks to its plug-in hybrid diesel engine, lightweight construction and low-drag design. Each punter will have to put up around €100,000 for the privilege of saving money on fuel – but don’t worry, because every car across the VW Group will benefit from the lessons learned, all by 2020. Toyota will resume construction on its mothballed plant in Mississippi and begin producing the Corolla there late next year. “We first needed to fully utilize our existing facilities as the economy slowed,” Yoshimi Inaba, president of Toyota Motor North America, said in a statement Thursday. “Now it's time to fulfill Toyota's promise in Mississippi.”
The automaker said it will hire 2,000 workers “soon.”
